Support for Survivors Beyond the Shelter

Outreach Advocacy

Not every survivor needs or chooses to stay in shelter, and many face barriers long after leaving an abusive situation. Our outreach advocacy program offers guidance, emotional support, and resource navigation for survivors living throughout South Georgia. Whether you are rebuilding your life at home, staying with family, or transitioning to new housing, our advocates are here to help.

What Outreach Advocates Can Help With

Outreach advocates provide one-on-one support tailored to each survivor’s needs, including safety planning, referrals to counseling, help accessing benefits, and assistance with community resources. We also offer guidance with financial support, divorce proceedings, and protective orders to ensure survivors feel informed and empowered.

Community Education & Awareness

In addition to direct support, our outreach advocates collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, faith groups, and community partners to raise awareness and strengthen local responses to domestic violence.

Meeting Survivors Where They Are
  • We attend community meetings, resource fairs, and local events to make support more accessible and raise awareness about domestic violence throughout the region.
Connecting to Additional Support Services
  • Outreach advocacy often works hand in hand with other Halcyon Home programs. Survivors can receive help through counseling, child advocacy, transportation, or relocation assistance, depending on their situation and goals. Our team ensures every survivor has a clear path to safety, stability, and long-term healing.
